‘Designed for Convenience & Flexibility’

CAD/CAM Workstations - from TechSoft

Any D & T teacher knows that practical lessons demand a lot of preparation – not just to make sure lesson objectives are met but also to make sure resources are ready to hand. At TechSoft, most of us know first-hand how frustrating it is to have a lesson compromised because equipment is not where it should be, tools have been ‘borrowed’ or materials are not readily available. Most CAD/CAM processes need their own, particular, tools and media to allow lessons to go smoothly - so we have created our own solution.

Plug and Play!

Our CAD/CAM Workstations are designed with flexibility and convenience in mind. Depending on the machine to be used, each workstation is designed with custom-storage for all the materials and tools you will need, using a neat arrangement of drawer and cupboard space below. There is space on top for a keyboard, mouse and monitor and, of course, for the CAM machine itself. Integral power outlets and space for a PC mean no more tangled cables, just plug the workstation into a single socket and everything is powered-up and ready for work. Key-switches, status lamps and (if appropriate) stop buttons are all there to make sure you have full control. In addition, our workstation for milling has extraction built-in with auto-switching so dust control is assured as soon as you run the machine.

Convenience - and Flexibility

A TechSoft CAD/CAM workstation certainly provides a neat, convenient way to keep resources organised, but flexibility is also a key feature. Each workstation is mounted on high-quality locking castors so that it can provide a plug-and-play resource to share between rooms. If space is tight, it can be stored and wheeled into position as and when needed. Our Machine Workstations take this idea a stage further. These are designed to accept smaller workshop machines such as fretsaws or bench drills, and are supplied with the necessary Stop switching to be fully compliant for safety once positioned. An added benefit is that the size and placement of the machine ensures a proper safe working area. Ultimately, a full inventory of Machine and CAD/CAM Workstations could be interchanged to re-configure teaching spaces as and when the curriculum dictates.

The Roland BN-20 – Ideal for Graphics

Our latest CAD/CAM Workstation houses the brand new VersaSTUDIO BN-20 print-and-cut machine from Roland. The BN-20 offers superb quality large-format printing for banners, posters or packaging nets up to A2 in size. It is also a precise and versatile CAM knife cutting machine for stickers, ‘applied’ vinyls, and print-and-cut vinyl graphics. In a two-step process that allows curing time for the solvent ink, a BN-20 will then cut the card net using the same Optical Alignment system featured on the GX series knife cutters. Our BN-20 Workstation has been designed to provide the ultimate in convenience and versatility for Graphics work.

TechSoft Workstations can be supplied on their own or fitted with the relevant machine. We can even supply them fully-loaded with tools and materials. With time at a premium, we aim to make ordering exactly what you need as painless as possible.
