Laser Grade Birch Plywood

TechSoft stock high quality 4mm, 6mm and 9mm plywood which is manufactured specifically for laser cutting. Its edge finish when cut is a golden brown colour, unlike the black charred finish of standard ply. Another advantage of this laser grade ply is that the core material is the same quality as the outside sheets - giving a better cut edge with greater stability. This material is double sanded for an ultra-smooth grain finish - no further sanding will be required. (N.B. 9mm ply may require 2 passes on a 30W laser)

N.B. The nominal thickness of this material is 4mm, 6mm or 9mm, but this may vary from 3-4mm, 5-6mm and 8-9mm between batches, due to the sanding process.

PLEASE NOTE:
Temperature / moisture changes occurring in transit can sometimes cause this material to bow or twist slightly. This is normal for natural materials and the effect will usually subside after 2 or 3 days. To speed up the process, sheets should be stacked flat with spacers between to allow airflow between the sheets. For long term storage sheets should always be laid flat.

PLEASE NOTE:
Due to supply issues, we only have limited availability of the birch. If it is not available in your desired size/thickness, we would recommend considering the laser-grade poplar plywood.
