These instructions are suitable for machines with lens housings that look like the image below:
Replacing the Lens on a 2023 LaserCAM Star A2+
You will need:
  • Latex gloves (or similar)
  • A large soft cloth
  • A lens cleaning wipe
  • A lens cleaning cloth
  • A small flat head screwdriver
Instructions:
  1. Lay a large soft cloth on the honeycomb bed underneath the head assembly (to catch any falling parts).

  2. Put on your latex gloves (or similar).

  3. Remove the lens housing by unscrewing the four finger tight screws.

  4. With the small flat head screwdriver, gently loosen the grub screw as shown below. Be careful not to strip the head of the screw. Also be careful to hold the lens housing upright as you do not want the lens to accidentally fall out.

  5. Remove the existing lens.

  6. Check the new lens. If there are any marks on the lens, clean it with a lens cleaning wipe and a lens cleaning cloth.

  7. Insert the new lens into the lens housing. The lens has two orientations. If you look straight down onto the lens you should be able to see your reflection clearly. If you cannot see your reflection clearly or your reflection is upside down, the lens is inserted upside down.

  8. With the small flat head screwdriver, gently tighten the grub screw. Be careful not to overtighten or strip the head of the screw.

  9. If there are any marks on the lens, clean it with a lens cleaning wipe and a lens cleaning cloth.

  10. Reinsert the lens housing. Be careful as it can be put in upside down. If you look straight down onto the lens you should be able to see your reflection clearly. If you cannot see your reflection clearly or your reflection is upside down, the lens housing is upside down.

  11. Reinsert and tighten the four finger tight screws.
